The Client: A State Government project to bring together health records of populace

The project is after a state’s government public and private effort in electronic health records adoption and the eventual development of a statewide system for electronic health information exchange. The sample includes 10000 internal users and 200,000 external users.

The client required skilled consultants in order to implement the project. Amongst the issues faced by the client at the time of implementation was to get expert insights on cloud based IAM, sync cloud based environment, installation of IDaaS and setup required updated patches in place.

Avancer’s Intervention

The client did not have a clearly defined business requirements and implementation was more of a challenge as no formal design documents to integrate IAM technology were available. This in addition to glitches including Database connections were failing continuously and the mid-tier was over loaded due to repeatedly trying for connections. The client was also facing tough time in capacity planning. Avancer proposed following set of Identity and Access Management solutions to help the client deal with existing set of challenges and achieve robust automation:

• Setup a Centralized User Management System
• Establish a SSO enabled automated work environment
• Authentication and coarse grained authorization
• Fraud prevention and risk management
• Strategic IAM that focuses at auditing and reporting through
• OIM Siebel connector is implemented
• OIM AD connector
• OAM – OIM – OAAM components are integrated together. OVD is integrated with OID and AD.

End Result

After the implementation of solutions and services the client provider was able to achieve following results:

• Scale: The system is expected to start supporting 10,000 internal users and 200,000 external users. External users will scale up to 1.5M in the next 10 years.
• Internal Users details are present in Active Directory and External Users details are store in Oracle Internet Directory. Oracle Virtual Directory adapters are used to virtualize OID and AD directory servers. All applications UCM, WC Portal, Siebel, OAM and OIM are configured with OVD.
